Rumpke to begin trash collection starting April 30, 2020

The City of Springboro is switching trash collection providers to Rumpke Waste & Recycling beginning April 30.

Waste Management will make its final trash pickup on Tuesday, April 28. EAVE YOUR TRASH TOTER AT THE CURB for Waste Management to pickup.

Service Day

Rumpke will be contacting you directly by mail with information regarding your service day, toter rental and recycling.

Toters/Trash Carts

You are permitted to use your own trash toters. Rumpke 95-gallon toters are available for $3 per month. Contact Rumpke at 1-800-828-8171 or newcustomer02@rumpke.com.

If you are renting a trash toter from Waste Management, leave it at the curb after their last pick up on Tuesday, April 28. It may take several days for Waste Management to collect, but it must be at the curb.

Curbside Guidelines

Trash/recycling must be placed curbside the night before your scheduled collection. Drivers may not return to residences if materials are unprepared at the scheduled collection time.

Recycling

  • Collected every-other Tuesday. Rumpke will contact you with the schedule.
  • Continue using your City-issued recycling cart.
  • Empty all items and place loose in the cart. Do not bag the items.
  • Recycle: Can, bottles & jugs, glass bottles & jars, paper and cartons

Yard Waste

Yard waste collection occurs April 1 through Dec. 31. Yard waste should be placed inside yard waste bags—purchased at any hardware store— or in containers marked “Yard Waste.” Loose shrubbery must be bundled and tied into lengths no larger than 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. Bundles should not exceed 50 pounds.

Bulk Item Pickup

Bulk item pickup is Tuesday, the same day as your regular trash collection. Notify Rumpke 24 hours in advance to review preparation guidelines.

Mattresses, box springs and upholstered furniture must be wrapped and sealed in plastic. Freon must be removed. Visit www.rumpke.com for details.

Holidays

Rumpke observes two holidays: Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.  Collection will be delayed one day during those holiday weeks.
