The EPA has recently revised its Lead and Copper Rule with revisions that include requiring communities and water utilities to identify lead pipes that connect drinking water service to homes and other buildings. In accordance with the federal mandate, the City of Springboro is required to prepare and maintain an inventory of service line materials for all properties located within the City.
If your home or business building was constructed AFTER 1986, you do not need to complete the form as lead pipes were not used.
1. Identify Your Plumbing Material
Check the area where your water meter is located and identify the material on the inlet side of the meter. If your meter is outside in a pit, check where the water line enters your house and identify the type of pipe that comes into your home. Plumbing materials can be lead, copper, galvanized steel or plastic. If you are unsure, visit our website for more information.
- Complete this form.
Reply with your plumbing material type no later than Monday, Oct. 14, 2024. If you need a paper form or have any questions regarding the survey, please call Ashley at 937-748-0020 or email the Service Department with any questions. For more information, visit the US Environmental Protection Agency.
