Clearcreek Park is a 137-acre park situated on West Lower Springboro Road along the north side of Clear Creek. The park includes soccer, football, and baseball fields, and natural areas. For National Trails Day, we will be using the 1.3-mile paved trail that circles the park’s ball fields. Look for the check-in tent on the overlook near the parking lot.
E. Milo Beck Park is an 85-acre preserve that was purchased by the City of Springboro in part through a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in 2004. The City’s purchase allowed for the lower portion of the park to return to a meadow and riparian corridor along Clear Creek. The upper portion of the park includes an overlook on West Lower Springboro Road that affords beautiful views of the Clear Creek valley. For National Trails Day we will be using the 1.5-mile green loop trail that circles the meadow and follows Clear Creek. Look for the check-in tent at the overlook near the parking lot.
Geocaching: There will be geocaches placed in the parks in association with National Trails Day. Geocaching is an outdoor activity where participants seek geocache containers by using a Global Positioning System, or GPS. For National Trails Day we will have four special geocache containers.
