General Statement of Duties

 The Tax Administrator is responsible for the collection of municipal income tax and the general supervision of the department. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not All-Inclusive)

 Administers city-wide collection of municipal income tax; advises taxpayers and tax preparation individuals regarding income tax issues.

 Conducts reviews and audits of city income tax returns for accuracy according to established procedures.

 Supervises Tax Department staff, providing general direction for the department.

Approves all refunds.

 Conducts research to locate delinquent tax accounts.

 Compiles reports and information needed to complete annual financial reports.

 Compiles and analyzes information for economic development (Tax Abatements, TIFs, Grants, etc.).

 Assists with generation and maintenance of City income tax policies and procedures.

 Helps to foster good community relations by providing customer service.

 Represents City in tax collection related professional organizations.

 Performs other duties as may be assigned.

 Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 Employee must have knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and computer related software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

 Employee must have ability to familiarize themselves with local income tax ordinances.  

 Must have the ability to communicate concisely and clearly with other City employees and the general public.  Must have the ability to carry out detailed written and/or oral instruction.  Must have ability to complete routine work forms.

 May be required to lift 30lbs+/-, bend down, reach up, but generally will be working in an office environment utilizing a computer, calculator, copy machine, telephone, etc.

 May be required to work overtime on weekends and outside of normal working hours.

 Acceptable Experience, Training and Additional Requirements:

 Employee should have experience in one or more areas related to the position; including, but not limited to; general business practices, general finance, bookkeeping or tax payments.

 At a minimum, must have completed Associates Degree with coursework in business, bookkeeping, AND general finance OR at least three (3) years experience in tax payments or collections.

 Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to the overall mission of the City and a cost conscious approach to assigned tasks.  Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio’s Drivers license.

General Statement of Duties

 The Bunker Manager is responsible for assisting with managing all food & beverage functions at Heatherwoode Golf Club in the Bunker Grill.  The position will be primarily early Spring through mid Fall from around March through October.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not All-Inclusive)

 Manages and assists with oversight of all food & beverage operations, scheduling, food & beverage inventory purchases and sale for the Bunker Grill.

 Assists with the recruiting, hiring, training & supervision of all food & beverage staff, especially related to the Bunker Grill including but not limited to Beverage Cart positions.

 Assists with the assurance that the employees and facility operates in accordance with all applicable City polices, and local, state and federal laws.

 Maintains positive relationships with public and employees while maintaining highest levels of customer service.

 Provide excellent food and beverage service for all events.

 Assists with and helps inspect all events set up and breakdown as directed.

 Assists with the development and implementation of the marketing program to increase food & beverage revenues and rentals primarily related to the Bunker Grill.

 Responds to requests and complaints regarding food & beverage operations

 Performs other duties as may be assigned.

 Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 Should have knowledge of the common methods, best practices, tools and materials used in the operation of a food & beverage operation.  Must be able to communicate concisely and clearly with the general public, other City employees, vendors and contractors.  Must be cost conscious and able to apply modern cost containment measures to the overall mission of the City.

 Must be extremely organized, efficient and detail oriented.  Must have exceptional customer service skills and must be highly motivated and a self-starter.

 Acceptable Experience, Training and Additional Requirements:

 Preferred to have 2-3 years related experience in food & beverage management.  A two-year or four-year college degree is also preferred (Degree in Hospitality Management a plus.).  Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.   Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to the overall mission of the City and a cost conscious approach to assigned tasks.  Must be able to work weekends, some holidays, and flexible schedule.   Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio’s Drivers license and be able to satisfactorily pass a background check and drug screen.

 Working Conditions:

 While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with arms and hands.  The employee is often required to walk, stand, sit, talk and hear or operate certain objects for long periods of time (6-8 hours).  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs occasionally.  The employee will be required to work extended hours during golf and holiday season(s) and work weekend and holidays as determined by the City.

Seasonal Maintenance

The City of Springboro is currently seeking help within its Service Department for seasonal help. The interested person must be at least 18 years of age, and able to pass a drug test, background check, and basic physical. The position will be Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4 PM, and will start at $13 per hour. 

Here are a few other duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs cleaning and repair to park restroom facilities, emptying of trash and recycling receptacles.
  • Performs general maintenance of all park structures, including but not limited to; tennis courts, playground equipment, baseball diamonds, benches, bleachers, fences, walking trails, basketball courts, concessions stands, picnic shelters, etc.
  • Performs routine maintenance on all equipment and performs any minor repairs on machinery.  Keeps equipment clean and in safe working order.
  • Assists other City departments when assigned, including but not limited to, water main breaks, traffic control, road repair, sign repair, building maintenance, general upkeep of the City.

Heatherwoode Golf Club

Heatherwoode Golf Club is an upscale public golf course owned and operated by the City of Springboro. Designed by Denis Griffiths, Heatherwoode has gone through numerous upgrades and improvements since opening in 1991. The golf course is home to Wright State University Raiders Golf team.
